I choose oils for my art as I love their ability to merge softly or boldly where I want it to. I find inspiration for creating a painting everywhere. The common thread among all that inspires me is light and shadow.
There can be so much beauty in the ordinary, the familiar, the life we see all around us everyday but do not always take the time to really “see”. I grew up in south Texas and have as much appreciation for the rugged arid desert landscape as I do the beautiful rolling hills of the Texas hill country that I now call my home. But the most interesting subjects for me are people and the objects we use in our everyday lives. Some will find these objects and people beautiful or quite ordinary. I hope to transfer the ordinary to show how unique it truly is. Look at my work carefully and you will see beauty in unlikely places.
