Riki Yarbrough

RY headshot.jpg

Mixed media artist Riki Yarbrough uses her work to visually unfold truth through a process of building layers with words, textures, colors and images. By way of visually telling a story, She enjoys communicating principles that stand as anchors to the soul.

Her works incorporate bold color movement, threading lines, exposed images, and lingering words. She typically uses acrylic paint layered with various papers, found objects, and sometimes embellished with pastels or charcoal. She chooses subjects reflecting the hidden richness found in landscape, nature, and Scripture that demand our pause and consideration. “Every piece is a sojourn - a temporary stay in something I’m working through or have come to understand. In each layer I choose to yield my expectation and trust hope will come.” Riki’s work provides a window into that surrender.
