About the Artist

Sandra Conklin
Sandra Conklin began drawing about age 7, when one of her paintings was selected for a UNICEF international children's art exhibit. Her interest in art continued to develop, through elementary and high school art classes,
leading to her being chosen as one of only two women admitted as freshmen to a new fine arts program at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1963.
After her children no longer needed her constant supervision, she returned to school earning a degree in Advertising and Design, graduating with highest honors, and it was not long before she created her own successful advertising/design agency.  At retirement she and her husband relocated to the vibrant arts community of San Miguel de Allende, Mexico.  She now lives full time in Boerne, TX.
Sandra considers herself a contemporary realist. She wants to present the viewer with a perspective they may not have seen before by using lighting, color, brushstrokes, etc.
