Born and raised in San Antonio, Tim now works, teaches, and lives there with his wife and three dogs. He received his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Texas at San Antonio where he studied drawing, painting, and art history.

Tim comes from a family of bookbinders, scratch bakers, carpenters, and machinists, gleaning from them the value of craftsmanship, creative problem solving, and the grit that it takes to create something you in turn share with the world. Tim’s artistic process honors that legacy.

His art is a series of personal narratives told through the gestures and arrangements of animals and birds that he has developed an affinity for.  They serve a symbolic role in his work, while at the same time honoring the beauty and spirit of each animal. Tim’s work is responsive and reflective regarding memories, experiences, and the natural world. It is ultimately about searching for a deeper understanding of these things and about filling in the holes along the way.
